I think swap should be re-added. At least 128 MB, if not 256 MB.

I had problems, playing a MKV on my 256MB pi. XBMC crashed before playback started. I watched htop and it was obvious that xbmc.bin was eating up all memory and then disappearing.

Output of dmesg:

Out of memory: Kill process 1277 (xbmc.bin) score 702 or sacrifice child
Killed process 1277 (xbmc.bin) total-vm:325236kB, anon-rss:85840kB, file-rss:1388kB
Console: switching to colour frame buffer device 240x67

Additionally, I was not able to install xbmc, when it was connected to my TV (1080p). When I connected it to a smaller PC monitor (1600x900), it worked. Maybe there was more free memory with the smaller display? But even then, "dpkg-reconfigure locales" (in configure-pi-user.sh) crashed with an out of memory error while building the locales. I could work around that by disabling xbmc while doing that (initctl stop xbmc)

So please please, re-add swap. Yes i know it needs some boot-up time. But it will save us from a lot of crash reports.

HI Sam! Continued great work thanks!

Are the current nightlies/updates based on Alpha 7 still or have you moved to a Beta version (this is to enable alignment of mysql Databases in several instances, Raspbmc and XBMC)??

Thanks very much!

I keep getting 90-100% cpu load with the nightly builds. Anybody else experiencing this? Tried a clean install, same result. Also using de Quartz skin, which resulted in a 20% cpu load with the official release.

The image/fanart showing is a lot faster.
