Where is the backup-tgz link? Would be nice if you put a link around the filename ;-) sorry I'm new to that whole xbmc stuff. but I appreciate it a lot !

can you do something for (up to now did not checked the RC4 maybe there its solved?):

- drop to console . this watchdog thing I think is not that good solution... let run a script in an endless loop... there may be some better solution.?
if I "leave" the xbmc, i do not want a respawn, but a console login (or autologin) before i want to get back to xbmc...Can you please try to implement the Ctrl-Alt-F1..n and use F7 for Xbmc ui like a normal machine?
Also you could just implement a fbterm wrapper into a window inside xbmc... a menupoint with "terminal" would be great... so that whole switching may not be neccessary - fbterm can do multiple screens (tabs) ... or use "screen". nevermind there may be a lot of cool solutions that provide an administrative local console...

- console drop - if it works (sometimes it respawns xbmc despite escaping) i miss a cursor - and doing vi or something some chars will get overwritten with black so they dissapear.
in fbterm it works well, but i do not know how to automatically put the fbterm to a tty. (rungetty does not work!?) - If there would be an xbmc internal terminal this point would not be needed - due there is no need to drop to tty.

Please keep on your good work ! it's revolutionary !

USB sound card support is improving, and shortly, you will be able to use one which is rather useful for getting audio out via an SPDIF connector.

And while we're at it... the Belkin Components F5D7050 Wireless G Adapter v3000 [Ralink RT2571W].

My network situation at home doesn't allow for a direct ethernet connection near a screen, and I'm n00b enough that SSH/etc is like banging my head against a wall (so far).

I'd like console as well.

Thanks, by the way, for listening to my rants and considering/planning the ability to use custom partitioning. It (tied with raspbians stuff) will be the feature that will make me use raspbmc.
